8 Days/7 Nights Silent retreat

Western Australia

A 7 night journey in the spirit of Vipassana, to turn off the outside world and connect you to your inner soul voices and to nature, on the Full Moon Eclipse in Scorpio.

Have you ever had the calling from your soul to just listen?

A deep call of listening to your heart?

Have you ever wanted to release this trauma or understand better why you react to life the way you do?

Have you ever wanted to dive deeper into your breath, your meditation practice, your sensations?

Have you ever wanted to learn why are we doing asana yoga in order to find “Yoga”?

If your answers are yes, you’re in the right space.

This is a special retreat, an opportunity to turn off the outside noise and dive into the inside voices, visions and sensations.

This retreat will be completely offline, and in silence, in order to shut off the outside and give you the space to listen.

You will learn how to meditate if you have never learnt it before, step by step. You will learn some pranayama and some soft asana practices you can take home with you.

There will be free time for extra practice and exploring the beautiful 24 hectare property where the forest meets the beautiful Denmark inlet.

“Based on Vipassana meditation, while adding more femininity into this ancient and perhaps more masculine practice, I add very soft movements of Qi Gong and soft asana practices, just to move the Qi of the body and also to learn how to practice the meditation techniques we are leaning in motion.

Bringing in the astrology aspects and TCM, so we learn about and focus on the energetic themes of the eclipses or moons, and understand better how to utilize and harness it.

Learning together how to let go and surrender into the reality as it is into and by Yin Yoga, while in each Yin Yoga session each practitioner is receiving Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Sound Massage.

Adding Guided Imagery on a special new moon night, to engrave changes into our subconscious mind.

And wrapping it all with so much love compassion and care for each practitioner, therefore I only host up to 15 people on each retreat.”

– Amber

Food

Food Description

Samadhi is a lovely lady who has a farm to table approach, most of the ingredients are seasonal and organic from her farm or other nearby. Samadhi combine the ingredients with an Ayurvedic approach to nourish and nurture your time on the retreat.

“Samadhi Slow Foods has evolved from our farm catering and my lifelong mad passion for growing things, from my fascination with the mystery of a seed. From that beginning, I have perused what makes sense through the fluctuating seasons and changing conditions. We practice  sustainable, organic, regenerative agriculture and I focus on small scale Heirloom vegetables and fruit.

I cook with what is in season in our region or that which I have preserved in seasonal glut.”

– optional: Coffee/ tea you like (there would be tea, plungers and ground coffee in the chalets but if you have a particular kind you like)
– Any milk/ mylk you like if you’d like to add it to your drinks (if you want you can write your name on the bottles so everyone keep their own, of course don’t store them all at once in the fridge or you can also share with people who like the same milks and stay in the same chalet as you).

What not to bring

– The retreat will be completely offline, so please don’t bring any laptops, if you are traveling and have your laptop with you, we can store your laptop securely in reception. All your mobile devices will be stored with us until the end of the retreat safe and secure. Please tell family that you will be out of contact for the duration of the retreat, and share with them the contact of the Cove Chalets at the top of this document for emergency contact, and hand over any electronic screen upon arrival.

– Please do not bring with you any books. This is not the time to read, it is time to sit with everything that arises (which usually we don’t allow to happen, as we are driven to occupy our minds). Books or any reading materials at this time will only act as a distraction.

– This one is obvious, but worth mentioning, please don’t bring any cigarettes, alcohol, drugs or any intoxicants (this includes ceremonial cacao).
– Please don’t bring any perfumes or anything that smells strongly. We want to return senses to natural state, not overwhelm with distraction which will enhance the temptation of the mind to wander. So please keep it minimal. Also no need for jewellery (if it’s minimal it’s ok, this one is up to you).

– No make up, hairdryer etc. we don’t need to beautify ourselves at this time, we are already beautiful.
– Please don’t bring any incense, or anything too smelling/ burning.
– Please don’t bring any religious materials or rituals.

– Please don’t bring any tarot cards or anything similar, you have all the answers inside, and this is the time to listen to it.

FAQ

What is Asana?
Asana is translated as a pose. which means – an Asana practice is a movement based practice. In this retreat we are focusing on meditation but a soft gentle movement will help to move the Qi (energy) in the body and also assists with long sits in meditation. Another reason for this movement practice is to learn how to observe sensations while in movement.
You will learn some movements you will be able to take home and practice on your own.

What is Pranayama?
Pranayama or Pranayam is breathing techniques which are ancient and profound, these will help to calm the mind and enrich the experience of meditation. Especially for busy minds. You will learn some techniques you will be able to take home and practice on your own.

Do I need any experience in yoga or meditation or the above?
No. You don’t need any experience with Asana / Meditation / Pranayama / Yin Yoga. You will be guided by Amber the whole time and if you struggle you can always approach Amber for support and help.

What is Nobel Silence?
Noble Silence is the fundamental permissions to dive in.
As sister Chân Diệu Nghiêm says in this beautiful article (highly recommended to read)- “Noble Silence does not mean that we are not allowed to talk. It means that we don’t have to talk, we have no obligation to talk during that period of the day or night.”
At the time of Noble Silence we keep our senses drawn inwards so we can focus on the inner world rather than on the outer world.
Noble Silence means no talking or non communication of any kind, it applies not only to speech but also to any signals, eye contact and written notes etc.
No internet or cellphones communications as well.
Of course you can talk and communicate with Amber, the teacher, for any question, queries and other emergencies.
Practising restraint (or inwards drawing) of the senses in this way provides an essential foundation for the powerful inner work which a meditation retreat facilitates.

How long are we staying in Nobel Silence through the retreat?
Noble silence will start on the first evening (so you can chat as much as you want from your arrival until 5pm) and finish on the last evening.

Can I ask questions? What if I have a problem?
Yes you can! Amber will be there for you at all times to ask any questions (so you can talk to Amber). You will be able to approach Amber during break times, before or after a session.

Is Amber the only teacher?
Yes, I will teach all classes, and will be your host for any question, query or problem.

Can I drink coffee through the retreat?
Yes you can!

Do I need any of my own props? or a meditation cushion?

I can supply you props but they are limited to 10 sets of all props, so if you have your own props please bring them with you. If you have any extra props and you don’t mind, please bring them with you for others to borrow. Only if you were intending to buy yourself a bolster – I will make an order through a lady who is making them from 100% cotton in Fremantle (her bolster cost is $43 I don’t charge any fee for that). My friend’s brand Divine Goddess have some really nice props made from very good quality which I can recommend, they also sell meditation cushions.
To conclude- *You don’t have to purchase any props for this retreat. We will either have some to supply to you / people will bring extra.

If I booked a shared room can I still be on a waiting list for a private room?
Yes, You certainly can! Just add it to your booking form / send me an email.

What if I need a ride?
In the form you will fill at the time of booking you can ask for a ride and we will do our best to find someone who is driving from the same place, but we cant guarantee.
