Discover Vedic meditation

Have you tried meditation before and feel like it’s just not for you? You might struggle to sit still, think that your mind is ‘too busy’ or feel like you’re doing it ‘wrong’. Or it might be that you simply haven’t found the best meditation style to suit you and your needs. There are lots of different types of meditation out there, Vedic Meditation is one of them.

What is Vedic Meditation?

The Vedic technique comes from India and the 5000-year-old body of knowledge called The Vedas. It’s a 20min twice-daily practice that anyone can learn, using a simple method taught by a qualified Vedic teacher. It’s a style of mantra meditation where a vibrational sound, known as a silent internal mantra is used.

How Is It Different From Other Meditation Practices?

You may have come across meditation practices that invite you to bring your attention to your breath or to clear your mind – Vedic is the opposite. Vedic meditation understands that thoughts are a natural part of how your mind works. It teaches you to follow your mantra, allowing you to drift effortlessly between, mantra, thought and thoughtlessness. This helps you to transcend into your deepest state of being.

Vedic empowers the individual. There is no need for intense concentration, you simply bring the mantra into your awareness and continue to return to it. The body and mind naturally settles, with your mantra acting as an anchor for your awareness.

What are the benefits of Vedic Meditation?

The benefits of Vedic Meditation are less about what you experience when your eyes are closed during the meditation experience, and more about how you experience life once your eyes are open. Typically used as a morning meditation practice, with a second session in the afternoon, Vedic creates deep rest, repair and rejuvenation to the entire body on a deep cellular level.

A daily practice of meditation contains a whole range of benefits including:

  • Reduced stress, anxiety and fatigue

How Can I Learn Vedic Meditation?

Vedic meditation is taught by a qualified Vedic teacher, typically over a 3-day course. During this time you will be introduced to the practice of Vedic meditation including the ancient knowledge, insights and science behind the practice. You will then be given your personal Mantra and taught how to refine and correctly implement the technique into your daily life.

The idea is for you to become self-sufficient with this simple technique and to create your own daily practice that is truly transformative. Once you have been taught, you can do it literally anywhere, you don’t need an app, you don’t need anything.
